And now, a word from the Lawn Chair Guy!
If you’ve had occasion to pass by Turtle Place over the past few weeks you may have seen artist Guy Drennan and his co-artist Lindia Stanton painting layer after layer of our ever-expanding and beautifully colored mural. Soon the Turtle Place Logo will be painted at the top. As the mural has progressed we noticed that you can see the mural and soon the logo as you exit Highway 14 dropping into downtown.
ZAPPING THE PAST INTO THE PRESENT
Our sculpture artists Greg Conyne and Wendy Armstrong are sequestered in a large barn in Ridgefield creating a signature piece of art out of recycled metal and glass. Much of the material is salvage from Clark Public Utilities which includes transformers, insulators and the like. While it is far from complete the effect is beginning to take on aspects of a monument to 20th century “electronic technology”. When complete it will be amazing. Add water and it may be cosmic.
HEAVY LIFTING ABOUT TO HAPPEN
We are in the final phase of working out the details of construction at Turtle Place. Our soon to be announced general contractor is poised to begin with the cutting of concrete, plumbing, electrical, and planting of trees. Watch for an official groundbreaking to be announced very soon.
LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK
For those of you who have had a chance to drop in at Turtle Place we would love to hear what you think of the mural progress.
